About The Department
Year of Establishment: Academic Session of Affiliation - Honours(1994-1995), General(1981-1982)
The Urdu Department of Mahabodhi Mahavidyalaya, Nalanda, is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the Urdu language, literature, and its rich cultural legacy. The department provides a vibrant academic environment where students engage with classical and modern Urdu poetry, prose, literary criticism, and linguistics.
With experienced faculty and a well-structured curriculum, the department encourages students to develop strong language skills, cultural sensitivity, and analytical thinking. It also fosters creativity through seminars, debates, and literary events. The Urdu Department aims to prepare students for careers in education, translation, journalism, and research, while keeping alive the aesthetic and philosophical essence of Urdu literature.
