Refund Policy

Refund Policy for Mahabodhi College

At Mahabodhi College, we are committed to ensuring that our students have a positive educational experience. However, we understand that circumstances may arise where a refund request is necessary. This Refund Policy explains the conditions and process for requesting a refund for tuition, fees, and other services.

1. Tuition Fees Refund

Full Refund:
A full refund of tuition fees will be granted if the student withdraws from the course before the commencement of the academic term. Refunds will be processed within [number] business days after the withdrawal request is submitted.

Partial Refund:
If the student withdraws within [insert number] days after the commencement of the course (up to the [insert date]), a partial refund will be issued. The amount will be subject to the following conditions:

  • A percentage of the tuition fee will be refunded based on the timing of withdrawal (e.g., 70% refund if withdrawn within the first two weeks).
  • Any additional charges such as registration or administrative fees are non-refundable.

No Refund:
No refund will be issued if the student withdraws after [insert number] weeks of the start of the academic term or if the student has attended more than [insert percentage] of the course.

2. Exam Fees Refund

Refund requests for exam fees will only be considered in cases of:

  • Medical emergencies (with a valid medical certificate).
  • Misapplication or administrative error on the part of the college.

In such cases, students may be eligible for a refund of exam fees if the exam has not been attended.

3. Non-Tuition Fees Refund

Non-tuition fees, such as those for accommodation, hostel services, library charges, or other extracurricular activities, are generally non-refundable after the start of the term unless in exceptional circumstances, such as:

  • Closure of college facilities due to government mandates or unforeseen events (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics).
  • If a student has paid for these services in advance and does not use them due to a valid reason.

Refunds will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, students must submit a written request to the Student Affairs Office or Finance Department. The request should include:

  • A copy of the original receipt or proof of payment.
  • Reason for the refund request.
  • Any supporting documentation (e.g., medical certificate, proof of withdrawal).

Refund requests should be submitted within [insert number] days after the withdrawal or payment. The college will process the refund within [number] business days after receiving the completed request.

5. Refund Processing and Methods

Refunds will be processed through the original payment method, unless otherwise agreed. Please note that the processing time may vary depending on the method of payment (e.g., credit card, bank transfer).

  • Bank Transfer: Refunds will be issued to the account from which the payment was originally made.
  • Cash Payments: For refunds of cash payments, students may be required to provide a bank account for the refund to be processed.

6. Special Cases

Fee Waivers:
In exceptional cases, such as financial hardship or a medical emergency, the college may consider partial or full fee waivers or deferred payment arrangements. These cases will be reviewed individually by the Financial Aid Office.

Transfer to Another Program:
If a student is transferring to another program or course within the college, the fees may be adjusted accordingly. The refund, if applicable, will depend on the difference in fees between the original and new program.

7. Terms and Conditions

  • Refund Eligibility: Refund eligibility is determined based on the date of withdrawal or service cancellation, as well as the specific terms of the program or service.
  • Non-refundable Fees: Certain administrative fees, registration fees, or other one-time charges may not be refunded.
  • Changes to the Refund Policy: The college reserves the right to update or change this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be communicated to students through official channels.
